In his role at the firm, John is responsible for the integrity of the firm's client services delivery across active operating relationships. He coordinates the firm's professional architecture—the corporate strategist, CFO, controller, finance director, HR director, operations director, and project manager roles—inside engaged client organizations, ensuring the firm's structural commitments operate consistently across the portfolio.
Before joining Teel & Company, John served in financial reporting and accounting management roles, with direct responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, financial statement preparation, and process design across private and public companies in technology and communications industries.
From March 2015 to February 2018, John served as Senior Financial Accountant at Toast (NYSE: TOST) in Chicago. He was responsible for external and internal financial reporting for management and investors, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. During post-merger integration related to Toast's acquisition of StratEx, he migrated local accounting and financial reporting systems to Toast's SEC-compliant infrastructure. He implemented SEC internal control procedures and was responsible for designing and tracking key performance indicators of division business conditions and reporting to the executive leadership team.
From February 2018 to November 2019, John served as Accounting Manager at SAC Wireless, a Nokia (NYSE: NOK) company in the Greater Chicago area. His responsibilities included budgeting and forecasting; preparation of financial statements under IFRS and U.S. GAAP; external and managerial reporting; and process automation across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial planning and analysis.
